
After a six-month streak of either decreasing or staying flat, North Carolina's unemployment rate increased in October--to 11 percent. Unemployment in September stood at 10.8 percent. Even in months when the state-wide unemployment rate dropped, Edgecombe has seen it's jobless numbers tick upward.
